Hi Guys
Today I want to chat with you about creating your dream blog. Many people believe that all you need to do is give it a name and write something on it now and again, well they couldn’t be more wrong, and if you truly want to create a successful blog then follow the steps below. Now I am going to be as professional as I can without losing that friendly tone because after all, you are my friends, not my client. Am going to take you through the steps needed to create a successful blog from start to finish.
HOSTING
Hosting is important, try and find a web host that has been around awhile, research what services it offers and pay particular attention to the pricing, have a search around you can get some good deals out there. The company that is always recommended to me is Bluehost, and I have had a look and they seem excellent value.
NAME YOUR BLOG
Naming your blog is something that has to be taken seriously, a lot of bloggers seem to pluck a name out of the air, and it has nothing to do with what their blog is about. It’s important that you come up with a name that ties in with your niche and makes it as unique and as exciting as you can, also try to make sure you keep the name of your blog short because it will be easier to remember and put a lot of thought into it, first impressions do count.
CREATE A THEME
Your blog is your shop window, and if you were a shop you would want your shop window to look great for the passer by’s to see and entice them in, well your blog is exactly the same. You want to design your theme around your niche, keep it clean and tidy, by that I mean don’t just place content anywhere you like, make it easier for your readers to find things, and make sure you have a clear working menu with no broken links. One last thing on this, although images and video are part of creating a successful blog, don’t overdo it.
CREATE CONTENT AND SEO
Content is the bread and butter of your blog, and without great content, your blog won’t work, there’s no if’s or maybe’s, it just won’t work. Creating good content is not easy, but if you stick to a few rules you will have a great shot of producing something your readers will love, and happy readers mean that they will want to come back for more.
When writing content stick to your niche, don’t deviate, people will get confused as to what your blog is about.
Be knowledgeable about your topic, do the research, there’s nothing worse than reading something that you know is wrong, it will affect your flow of traffic from all sources.
Make sure you update your post page and cont every time you add something new, this is really important to your Google ranking, traffic flow, and your domain authority, which in turn, if you are a professional blogger, can effect your business.
Make your content interesting, make it unique, give it a different twist. Use links when necessary, images are also important and can really add value to your post, but as I mentioned earlier, don’t overdo it, and try to make sure your keyword density is right, this is important for SEO purposes.
Keep titles short and compelling, a reader will look at a title and if it doesn’t grab their attention they will read no further
The most important rule of all is to enjoy what you write and write what you feel.
SOCIAL MEDIA AND SHARING
Social media is critical to the success of your blog, to rely on other sources alone is no good. Share your posts on all the major social networks, they have a market of millions, there reach is global, and you must use this to the advantage of your blog. Use a targeted audience, and use any analytical data you can to achieve this. Encourage the followers you already have to visit your blog. Post often, and be consistent about when you post because your readers will soon learn when to look on your blog for new content.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, and I hope it gives you a basic idea of what a good blog is all about, but please remember we all have different ways of doing things, but I will say that if you just want somewhere to write, and your not bothered about how successful your blog is, then I admire you, and if you do care and you have the passion to go with that, then all power to you. Thanks for reading guys.
